On September 29, 2024, approximately 1315 hrs.,
came into police headquarters to report alleged
forgery by his tenant. handed me a pre-printed
victim/witnes statement which alleged that his tenant had
submtted a falsified pay stub in connection with his rental
application, and that this was a violation of M.G.L. C. 267,
Sec 5. After reviewing said chapter and section, I advised
CHAMPITO that the chapter and section he cited only applies
to forged land court documents, and that the civil issues
with his tenant should be handled via civil eviction/summary
process through East Boston District Court. I also provided
CHAMPITO the contact number for the EBDC District Attorney
if he felt that a criminal charge was still the appropriate
way to proceed with his tenant issues.
